This course is an online learning adventure designed to provide K-12 teachers, administrators, media specialists and other school personnel with an introductory "What's out there?" exploration of some common tools and concepts related to Web 2.0. All course content will be delivered online through Moodle. A primary goal of this course is to model effective use of the technology tools teachers can implement in their own professional practice. Participants will complete 3-5 discovery exercises and learning tasks (called "Things") per week, in an online environment, with the virtual guidance of a Learning 2.0 facilitator. Completion of activities will require 3 - 5 hours per week of faciliated work, resulting in a minimum of 30 contact hours, or 3 PLUs. The FY08 Title IID Competitive grant, titled Teachers, Teamwork and Technology (T3) will specifically address a statewide need to improve instruction to meet the needs of the 21st Century learner and impact overall student achievement.
Math I units are Georgia Performance Standards support for promotion of consistent communication.
The High School Math GPS with TI Technology I project provides training for high school teachers implementing the new GPS for Mathematics 1. These teachers will be trained to implement GPS mathematics using TI technology (TI-Calculator, TI-Smartview and TI-Navigator Classroom Learning System) in a collaborative learning environment that focuses on student learning.
The Sample Course will show examples of everything that you can do in Moodle.
Middle schools and/or high schools will implement 21st Century learning environments in a minimum of five classrooms or instructional areas. This course will serve as a guide for the extensive professional development that the leadership team and the classroom teachers will receive over a two year period of time. The grant classrooms must be connected by a common curriculum area, grade level, common teacher planning teams, etc.
